In Germany Giovanni Battista Beinaschi (ca. 1634–1688) is still a well-kept secret – in Italy he ranks among the most renowned painters and most expressive graphic artists of his era.

zum ShopBorn in the Piedmont region, the artist went to Rome early on, where richly figurative and sensuous fresco painting was flourishing. Here, Beinaschi became a key protagonist of the local art scene.
With around 250 drawings in its stock, Museum Kunstpalast holds the most comprehensive collection of Beinaschi’s works in the world. In the exhibition approximately 100 of the artist’s works, documented by way of an inventory catalogue, are shown to the public for the first time.
