In the family workshop, we explore colours, shapes and moods together – and ask ourselves: Which colour feels cheerful, calm or wild? How can pictures show feelings?
In the Palast Studio, we experiment with different techniques, make stamps and design printing templates. It’s sure to be colourful!

In this open studio, we will draw inspiration from the artistic techniques and motifs of the exhibition and get creative together. No registration is required; just drop by.



The Scharf Collection ranges from 19th- and 20th-century French art to contemporary international works. Highlights include pieces by Paul Cézanne, Claude Monet, Pierre Bonnard, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse and Katharina Grosse.

Come by and get creative together. In this Open Studio, we will combine art and science.
Do you already know the four elements: fire, water, earth and air? Do you also have an idea what the fifth could be? In the exhibition, you can look into this mystery, experiment in the Kraftlabor, and create your own artwork on the first floor.

Earth, fire, air and water – these are the four elements, but what could the fifth be? The exhibition raises exciting questions about our world and the universe. The artworks invite us to ask questions, develop new ideas and think about connections. How do nature, art and science fit together? In our family workshop, you will have the opportunity to translate physical phenomena into art. We distort our optics and bring balance to our works. Would you like to experiment? An elf has moved into the Kunstpalast. Go on a search for his apartment door. You will discover it on your tour through the exhibition ‚The Secret Power of Scents’. He has also brought three friends with him, who can be found in the glass collection.
In our ‚workshop’ there are small picture frames ready for you to paint in bright colors for the elf’s apartment. We look forward to seeing you and your ideas!

Why does a fragrance sometimes remind us of our grandmother, a delicious meal, or a holiday? What happens when we smell something? And how can a scent change the way we feel?
Through playful and artistic techniques, we will explore these questions and dive into the world of fragrances. See you at the Palast Studio!
