Accessibility information
The Kunstpalast aims to provide all visitors with access that is as barrier-free as possible. The following information provides an overview of the structural conditions and offers for different needs. The information was collected as part of the “Travel for All” labeling system on 12 December 2024.

Barrier-free arrival
Public transport
The Tonhalle/Ehrenhof underground station (lines U70, U74, U75, U76, U77) is about 500 metres from the main entrance.
Written information about the stop is available.
There are tactile guide strips and high-contrast visual floor indicators on the platform, which enable visually impaired people to find their way safely.
The path from the platform to the Kunstpalast is tactilely detectable throughout and visually easy to recognise. Seating along the route provides additional relief for people with limited mobility.
A lift is available, but without an acoustic floor announcement.
An emergency call in the lift is confirmed acoustically, but this does not provide any visual feedback for people with hearing impairments.
Travel by car
Parking facilities
- A marked disabled parking space is available in the inner courtyard of the Kunstpalast (width: 600 cm, length: 700 cm). The entrance is via Inselstraße/Ehrenhof, the barrier can be opened via a bell.
The distance from the car park to the barrier-free entrance is approx. 5 metres.
The path is low-vibration, at ground level and at least 200 cm wide.- The surface consists of narrow-jointed slabs and is easy to negotiate with a wheelchair, walking frame or walking aids. The surface offers good grip even in rainy weather.
- The destination is clearly recognisable from a distance. The route from the car park is clearly laid out, visually rich in contrast and additionally structured by a clearly recognisable boundary.
