Take your dog to the museum: to mark International Dog Day on 26 August 2026, our four-legged friends and their owners are warmly welcome at the Kunstpalast. Whether large or small, long-haired, short-haired or wire-haired – on this day, dogs don’t have to stay at home or wait outside.
So why not combine a walk in the Hofgarten with a detour to the Kunstpalast? Discover our exhibition ‘Alles Kunst?!’ on a tour together with your dog. On hot summer’s days, our air-conditioned rooms also offer a unique art experience and the perfect way to cool down for visitors with and without fur. Perhaps your dog will even spot a favourite piece in our collection.
To ensure everyone feels comfortable, we ask that dogs be kept on a lead.
International Dog Day was launched in 2004 by the American animal rights activist Colleen Page. It celebrates the special bond between humans and dogs and raises awareness of animal welfare, adoption and responsible dog ownership.
