As a journalist and expert on the Düsseldorf art scene, Helga Meister followed Immendorff’s life and work right up until his death in 2007. In her articles on both exhibitions and the city’s cultural and political events, she highlights the artist as an important voice with social influence. Drawing on the numerous conversations she had with Immendorff during his lifetime, Helga Meister will explore how the public perception of him has changed.
