In the family workshop, we explore colours, shapes and moods together – and ask ourselves: Which colour feels cheerful, calm or wild? How can pictures show feelings?
In the Palast Studio, we experiment with different techniques, make stamps and design printing templates. It’s sure to be colourful!

Rows of houses, streets and alleys, or passers-by – we capture urbane scenes with pen and brush. No matter if beginner or advanced, learn more about perspective, explore depth effect and image space as well as experimenting with the techniques of water colour painting together with the artistic guidance of our workshop guide. In this holiday course, we will first gather lots of colourful ideas and inspiration from famous artists such as Monet, Cézanne and Matisse. Then, in the Palast Studio, we will conduct our own artistic experiments. We will paint with bright colours, using dots, strokes and surfaces. We will do exciting drawing exercises and collage strong, vibrant pictures – all using a wide variety of materials, just like the great masters. We will be surprised by the results and at the end we will put on a small exhibition for our families. We look forward to seeing you!

We draw on this diversity in our series of workshops for adults, taking inspiration from the exhibition. Once a month, we focus on a particular artistic technique or motif and get creative ourselves.
In July, the focus is on paper cutting, which artist Henri Matisse also called ‘drawing with scissors’. Inspired by this idea, we experiment with paper, paint and cutting in the workshop to create our own compositions.

We draw on this diversity in our series of workshops for adults, taking inspiration from the exhibition. Once a month, we focus on a particular artistic technique or motif and get creative ourselves.
In June, the focus is on printing techniques. The collection includes prints by Goya, Japanese woodblock prints and almost the entire graphic oeuvre of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. We learn the basics and design our own prints on paper.
