Late summer vibes change the colours of the Ehrenhof! We enjoy the nice September days and paint outside again. We capture the scenes with our brushes, watercolours, and fast strokes. Together we observe our surroundings, get inspired by impressions, and transform them into our own paintings. Our guide and artist Nima Dibazar can offer you tips and tricks to support your artistic journey.

In this dynamic drawing workshop, we will explore the remarkable architecture of the Kunstpalast, as well as its surrounding outdoor spaces. We are looking for unusual perspectives, compelling compositional rhythms, unexpected light effects, expressive proportions and captivating atmospheres. We observe, interpret, and capture space through drawing. Discover your surroundings anew through the grey scale world of graphite pencils!

The workshop offers a practical, experimental and open-ended approach to drawing, welcoming both participants with and without artistic experience – everyone is welcome to join!

This workshop will be held by Patricio Alvarez Aragon. He is an art historian, researcher, curator, and artist.

Let your creativity flow! In this workshop we use pre-existing pictures to start our own artistic journey. Whether small or big changes – together we edit, create, and explore new readings and visual possibilities. This is an open creative space, inviting you to scribble, splatter, and smear. With colours and different materials, but without confinement, you can enjoy this inspiring afternoon with us.

We observe the hustle and bustle, the Kunstpalast’s architecture, and the shapes and colours surrounding us. How do we sketch the scenery? Outdoor painting demands fast decisions but also offers a broad variety of details and inspiring moments. You will learn methods and techniques to capture your impressions.

We hunt down intriguing motives, shapes, and colour. We capture our discoveries with our cameras and then transform them into unique, new works of art. Using both digital and analog tool, we experiment with various creative techniques: we create collages, cut out elements, resemble them anew, or overlay images. So, we will develop our own visual worlds between photography and art. We look forward to seeing you!

How can we capture motion? In this digital photography workshop, we will experiment with different techniques. Sometimes, we’ll move the camera ourselves to create interesting effects. Other times, we’ll move in front of the lens to capture exciting moments. What is shutter speed abd what can we create with it? From razor-sharp snapshots to creative long-exposures, we’ll try it all. Bring your own camera or borrow one from the museum. We look forward to seeing you!

How were your holidays? Which memories would you like to capture? Some artists got inspired by their summer experiences, sunshine, blue sky, or colourful flowers. We also will capture our adventures! We will paint, draw, print, or make collages – just let your creativity flow wild and free. As a final touch, we’re putting on a little exhibition for our family. We are looking forward seeing you!

We sit daily at school, at the table to eat, or in the evening on the couch. How would your perfect chair look like? Together we go all the way from the first sketch to the model until we have the final three-dimensional work of art. Let’s be creative. We glue, hammer and staple different materials together until our sculptures take shape. As a final touch, we’re putting on a little exhibition for our family. We are looking forward seeing you!

Did you always want to make your own movie? Now is the perfect time! But instead of actors, we will shoot figures made of playdough and wire. In this 4-day holiday course you will shoot your own stop-motion movie. Writing the script, building the background, deciding on the final cut – you will become the next regisseur. Invite your family for the grand premiere at the end. We are looking forward seeing you!
