Jahrhunderts wurde er weltweit als einer der bedeutendsten deutschen Künstler seiner Generation gefeiert. Die rund 100 ausgestellten Exponate umfassen großformatige Gemäldeserien, Holz- und Bronzeskulpturen sowie noch nie gezeigte Zeichnungen und Archivmaterial. Die Ausstellung ist die erste umfassende Retrospektive in Düsseldorf, wo Immendorff jahrzehntelang studierte, lehrte und arbeitete.

When the doors of the Kunstpalast are closed and the exhibition rooms are pitch dark, a whole new perspective on Jörg Immendorff’s art opens up. By torchlight, the forms and details of his works stand out particularly strikingly.
Together, we’ll explore the exhibition outside regular opening hours and encounter the numerous figures and symbols in Immendorff’s visual world in an extraordinary atmosphere. Using torches provided or your own, we’ll discover the art from unusual perspectives and let the works have an effect on us through the interplay of light and shadow.

Die Philharmonie der Solisten vereint herausragende Musikerinnen und Musiker mit internationaler Konzerterfahrung. Alle Ensemblemitglieder sind studierte BerufsmusikerInnen und musizieren in der Stammbesetzung eines Kammerorchesters zugleich als Solistinnen und Solisten. Jürgen von der Lippe, Jahrgang 1948, ist seit Jahrzehnten als erfolgreicher Meister humoristischer Feinarbeit und Moderator auf Bühnen und im Fernsehen unterwegs. Er lebt in Berlin und ist unter anderem Träger des Bambi, des Grimme-Preises und der Goldenen Kamera. Seine letzten Bücher „Beim Dehnen singe ich Balladen“, „Der König der Tiere“, „Nudel im Wind“ und „Sex ist wie Mehl“ standen wochenlang auf der Bestsellerliste.

Zu seinem aktuellen Buch „Sextextsextett“ sagt der Wortkünstler:
