We cordially invite all interested teachers to the introduction of Niki de Saint Phalle. Dream Machine. Together, we will visit the exhibition and then present the programme for secondary schools. During the guided tour, you will gain insights into works spanning four decades of Niki de Saint Phalle’s (1930–2002) career. The French-American artist made her mark in a male-dominated art scene. In her work, she also explored themes such as power, anger and self-determination – from her ‘shooting pictures’, through habitable sculptures lined with mosaics, to the large, powerful-looking Nana sculptures. She translated emotions into art, reframed her female figures as strong and self-assured – in contrast to societal norms – and created entire fantasy worlds.

Soirée der Gesellschaft der Freunde und Förderer der Robert Schumann Hochschule

Zweimal im Jahr veranstaltet die Gesellschaft der Freunde und Förderer der Robert Schumann Hochschule eine musikalische Soirée, mit der sie jungen Musikerinnen und Musikern der Robert Schumann Hochschule im Robert-Schumann-Saal eine Bühne bietet. Auch dieses Mal präsentieren sich wieder junge Talente. Es spielen die Gewinner*innen des Rometsch-Wettbewerbs 2026 für Kammermusikensembles. Zu hören sein werden das Absalon Streichquartett (1. Preis), einem aufstrebendem Ensemble aus der Streicher-Kammermusikklasse von Prof. Eckart Runge, sowie das Gesangsduo (2. Preis) um Verena Kronbichler und Giuseppe d’Elia (Klasse Prof. Hans Eijsackers) und das Iyoko Bläserquintett (2. Preis) aus der Bläser-Kammermusikklasse von Prof. Mark Hampson. Außerdem stellt sich die junge Nachwuchspianistin Yiyi Han (Klasse Prof. Lisa Eisner-Smirnova) vom Institut Schumann Junior vor.

Auch Nicht-Mitglieder des Vereins haben die Chance, das Konzert zu erleben: Restkarten gibt es ab dem 13.10.2026 an der Kunstpalast-Museumskasse kostenlos.

Für die aktuelle Tour schlägt die Berliner Band DOTA ein neues Kapitel auf. Aus der um ein Streichtrio, Posaune und Klarinette erweiterten Kernbesetzung entsteht ein popmusikalisches Kammerensemble im Taschenformat: Das klitzekleine Orchester. Während Sängerin und Texterin Dota Kehr mit ihrer unverwechselbaren Stimme durch den Abend führt, entfaltet dieser besondere Klangkörper mit den raffinierten Bearbeitungen von Jonas Hauer eine gewaltige Bandbreite an Sounds, die der vielschichtigen Poesie der Frontfrau weitere Dimensionen hinzufügen. Mal zart, mal kraftvoll und dabei stets fein justiert tönt dieses Orchester, welches sich „klitzeklein“ nennt und doch die größte Besetzung darstellt, in der DOTA jemals auf Tour gegangen sind.

Mehrstimmiger Gesang sorgt für dichte, warme Klangbilder, während ungewöhnliche instrumentale Kombinationen und überraschende Arrangements vertraute Lieder immer wieder in einem anderen Licht erscheinen lassen. Bekannte Stücke sowie selten gespielte Perlen aus dem unerschöpflichen Repertoire von DOTA werden vom Klitzekleinen Orchester gleichermaßen neu interpretiert. Auch Vertonungen von Mascha Kalékos Gedichten, für die der Band in 2026 vom Rudolstadt Festival der Weltmusikpreis RUTH verliehen wurde, werden zu hören sein, davon einige, die bisher noch nicht live aufgeführt wurden. Das Ergebnis ist ein Konzerterlebnis, das gleichzeitig reduziert und opulent wirkt – eine Einladung zum aufmerksamen Zuhören und Eintauchen. DOTA & das klitzekleine Orchester zeigen auf dieser Tour eindrucksvoll wieviel Kraft im Leisen liegt.

The participating artists were Heinz Mack, Otto Piene, and Günther Uecker. They used unconventional materials such as aluminium, glass, mirrors, and fire to break the boundaries between image and space.
